A local boy with a passion for Burgundy

Son of a cook and a great-grandchild of a cooper,

Youri Lebault is a purebred son of Chenôve in the Côte d’Or who grew up surrounded by this mystical viticultural scenery. Inspired by a deep love for this soil on which he was raised, he founded the company Bourgogne Gold Tour in 1999; the beginning of a great adventure which allows him to fully express his passion for terroir and his appreciation of new encounters.

Youri Lebault inherited a passion for wine and food from his Burgundy roots and the careers carved out by his family. He holds several diplomas in wine and viticulture but he is also an educator and shares his knowledge and his love for the wines and the “Climats” of Burgundy (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) with great enthusiasm. As an ultimate recognition of his commitment, he became a member of the exclusive Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, which numbers only 12000 members from all over the world, in 2013.

Advocating a very special appreciation of life, he allows readers to discover the exceptional character of Burgundy in two publications: In Climat Veritas (with a preface by Prince Albert of Monaco) and En route… vers les Climats du vignoble de Bourgogne (with a preface by Aubert de Villaine).

TRAINING & AWARDS

David

Born and raised in the heart of Burgundy's famous "Golden Triangle", David began working in the vineyards of Meursault at the age of 12, helping his father during harvest - of course - but also transplating baby vines, learning the Guyot pruning method in winter, side-shoot removal in spring, canopy management all summer - in short, the vineyards of Burgundy have kept no secrets from him. Next, he worked as a cellar manager and sommelier in some of the most prestigious wine houses of Burgundy (among them Patriarche, Marché aux vins, Chateau de Pommard and Jean Claude Boisset). Additionally, David is completing a one-year intensive training course in Beaune, focusing on the history behing the vineyards and wines of Burgundy. Driven by a passion shared with Youri and his team, he chose to join BGT in 2021 in order to share his devotion for this famous nectar. "Never in vain, always in wine"! He now holds a WEST level 2.

Fabien

It is in the heart of the family estate of Moulin au Moine, created in 1957 in Savigny les Beaune, that he grows up and awakens his love for Burgundy.

Seduced by Burgundy Gold Tour, which he considers the gold standard of excellent wine tours, he decided to join Youri and Joachim, as they share his passion for the Burgundy region and his taste for sharing.

Fabien has a wealth of experience as he has runned his own wine tourism company and holds a WSET certification.

Christine

Christine was born and raised in Dijon with a father who was a wine merchant for many years.
After language studies that took her to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Christine realized that the most important thing for her was to share her French roots, and in particular Burgundy: culture, history, architecture, gastronomy...
A guide in Burgundy for 20 years, she has also worked in a winery in Chambolle Musigny and at the Hospices de Beaune, famous for the auction of their precious wines.
She joined the Burgundy Gold Tour team because of the quality, authenticity and humanity that Youri has instilled in his company, values that all BGT staff lovingly uphold.
